Calanthus: A well known ornamental perfect flower, corolla red to other colours. Termed as Aeschynanthus Calanthus, here the blooming state could not be captured, it’s magnificent. Three years back I grew this in my garden, huge and beautiful

Preparation of ORGANIC FERTILISER MIX FOR GARDEN

Sharing my preparation strategy, measure quality by weight based on limited experience : Consider requirements 5 Kg mix at a time, if your requirement is more then increase the proportion accordingly.

First take all the ingredients in a bucket by weight wearing hand gloves, then dry mix it as far as possible taking time. After that sprinkle water spray to moist the mix properly, keep it in a cool and dry place under shade, covering the bucket for at least 20 to 25 days, check alternate day. In between you may stir to release heat. Finally shift the ready product for use in a suitable box for utilisation after 30 days. I used to apply one handful of ready fertilizer per month to every mature plant. Young plants need alternate measures and selective fertilisers at growing phase. Easily retain-able for one year or more

Personal formulation- very good to grow Petunia, Pansy, Dianthus, Nasturtium, Impatiens etc. But not satisfying results achieved like Inca, Chrysanthemum or other exotic varieties. Mind it, the medium does not have nutrients and dry up quickly in full sun, and needs daily watering.

POT SOIL PREPARATION & MEDIA

Dry Soil 5 pots + cocopeat 1.5 pots + fine river sand 1 pot + Vermi compost 1.5 pots + leave mold 1 pot + lime powder 2 tsp after 6 days add fertiliser, insecticide & fungicide — bone dust- 100 gms + horn meal - 75 gms + groundnut cake dust - 75 gms + master oil cake dust - 50 gms + Neem cake dust - 50 gms + Trichoderma Viride - 10 gms + Furadin or Thimet - 5 gms. You may add some Seaweed - 3 tsp & Humic acid - 2 tsp —— mix thoroughly and keep in bag for 3 to 4 weeks before use

Final potting mix for seasonal flowers size 8” to 10”.

For initial posting upto 4” pots cake fertilisers are avoided except Neem cake dust

In Soil free media add proportionate Vermi-Compost, Bone dust, Horn Meal, Charcoal granular form & Neem cake dust

Selective Season flower &

Cinder potting mix is washed volcanic source, prefer size 2 to 8 mm combined with 10-20% Compost, Charcoal, Neem cake & Bone meal. Chrysanthemum (small) and Adenium are best grown in this medium. Advantage is bad bacteria & microorganisms free media
